Clear aligners work by applying calibrated, incremental pressure through a series of custom trays, each one shifting your teeth slightly closer to their final position. Instead of physical molds, an intraoral scanner captures your bite digitally and produces a preview of how your smile will move, stage by stage.
Aligners handle a wide range of cases now, though a provider will tell you upfront if your case is better suited to fixed braces instead. Compliance matters here — aligners only work if they're worn roughly twenty-two hours a day, removed just for eating and brushing.
Attachments — small tooth-colored bumps bonded temporarily to certain teeth — give the aligner extra grip for more difficult movements like rotations. That planning happens upfront, so you know from day one which stages will include attachments.
Intraoral scanners replace old-style impression trays for a faster, more accurate starting scan.
You see a digital preview of your projected final smile before agreeing to start treatment.
If teeth need extra adjustment partway through, refinement trays are built into most treatment plans.
Unlike brackets, aligners come out for meals and photos, provided you stay disciplined about wear time.
Our network specialists cover the full range of this procedure, from the routine case to the complicated one.
Your provider walks you through the simulated tooth movement stage by stage during the consult.
Aligners gradually shift crowded teeth into alignment over a series of custom trays.
Spacing between teeth is closed gradually through calibrated pressure across successive trays.
Mild bite discrepancies can often be corrected with aligners paired with attachments for extra grip.
Minimal enamel reshaping between teeth sometimes creates space needed for proper alignment.
A custom retainer holds your new alignment in place once the active tray series is complete.
A coordinator answers and asks a few quick questions about your specific case and how soon you need care.
